  6. Deluxe Replacement for WB2+ 'Execute'
  7. .description
  8. ShellBench is a replacement for the Workbench Execute requester. It
  9. opens a small window on the default public screen, with a string
  10. gadget for typing in the desired command. The string gadget supports
  11. filename completion with the TAB key and keeps a command history
  12. buffer. The excellent BGUI library by Jan van den Baard provides
  13. font-sensitive gadget layout in a resizeable window.\n
  14. Via tooltypes and an options window, ShellBench offers fine control
  15. over the execution environment of launched programs, including task
  16. priority, stack size and current directory. In addition to using
  17. ShellBench on-demand for executing individual Shell commands, you can
  18. also quickly set up project icons that run Shell programs in highly
  19. configurable environments.\n
  20. Summary of features:\n
  21. o Icons shift-selected when started from Workbench have their fully
  22. qualified pathnames appended to the command string.\n
  23. o AppWindow support: drop icons in the window and the fully
  24. qualified pathnames will be appended to the command.\n
  25. o TAB key performs filename completion.\n
  26. o Shift-TAB inserts all matching filenames.\n
  27. o Press HELP to get a file requester; selected files get their full
  28. pathnames inserted into the command string.\n
  29. o Optionally expands all wildcards in command before launch.\n
  30. o Command line history, which can be saved to a file for recall
  31. between invocations of ShellBench.\n
  32. o Clipboard paste support using RightAmiga-V.\n
  33. o User-defined hotlist of favourite commands or substrings for quick
  34. insertion via function keys.\n
  35. o Launch parameters such as output window, stack size, current
  36. directory, etc, configurable via tooltypes and on-line via options
  37. window.\n
  38. o Launch parameters can be placed in tooltypes of project icons,
  39. allowing for easy launch of applications with specific execution
  40. environments.\n
  41. o Commodity option, with user-configurable pop-up hotkey.\n
  42. o Opens on the default public screen, or on a named one.\n
  43. o Font-sensitive, resizeable gadget layout: uses the preferred font
  44. of the screen it opens on, with a tooltype to override and specify
  45. your own font.\n
  46. o All gadgets have keyboard shortcuts.\n
  47. o Locale support for presenting all text and messages in the
  48. user-preferred language, with an option to override and specify
  49. language.\n
